What Furniture Needs To Be Anchored?

Leave a message

Furniture that needs to be anchored (or secured to a wall) is typically tall, heavy, or unstable, posing a tipping hazard-especially for children.
Dressers & Chests of Drawers:Tall, top-heavy dressers can tip over if drawers are opened unevenly or climbed on. Bookshelves & Bookcases:Tall shelves, especially when loaded with heavy books, are prone to tipping. Entertainment Centers & TV Stands:Large units holding heavy TVs or electronics can topple if not secured. Wardrobes & Armoires:Freestanding closets can be unstable, especially when doors are opened forcefully. Cabinets & Storage Units:File cabinets, kitchen cabinets, or storage units with drawers can tip if overloaded.
Racks & Shelving Units:Freestanding racks (shoe racks, utility shelves) can collapse if overloaded. Mirrors & Large Wall Decor:Heavy mirrors or artwork should be securely mounted to avoid falling.Appliances (in some cases):Large appliances like refrigerators, ovens, or washing machines may need anti-tip brackets.
